Cathing Up with Ballerina's
As I was waiting for my Downtown bus today, I see one of the homeless guys I met earlier this month walking down the street.
I catch my bus on 1st street right across from the C-Train track, and you get a lot of the homeless guys always walking by my bus stop.
I wasn't sure if he would remember me, but I sure remembered him. He talked to me several times over the 2 days I was at the shelter.
What sticks out in my mind was that he didn't have much warm clothing on and he even wore a garbage bag over his clothing and then a thin coat. The garbage bag went up to his knees, his coat only up to his waist. It looked like he was wearing a dress over his pants.
I made him take a new sweater and some socks to help keep him a bit warmer. He didn't ask for anything and he really didn't want to take them. I kind of forced him to take them and I made him put the new sweater on over his garbage bag. He even spun around for me and asked me how he looked. I told him he looked like a ballerina with that garbage bag on. We laughed.
Today this same ballerina stopped to talk to me! I asked him how he was doing. He told me he was fine, and that he was staying at the Dream Centre. I told him to look after himself.
He had no garbage bag on.
Looked just like you and me.
