Overnight Train

We travelled on an overnight train from Ayuthaya to Chiang Mai the evening of Dec 31st.

Our cabin was full of Gecko travellers so there was a big party on board.

The cabin had about 30 sleepers....one on top of the other on the sides of the train...very different to what I've seen in Europe.

I can't even remember what time we left....I think it was around 7 pm. We arrived in Chiang Mai around 10 am the next day.

A few of our group took sleeping pills..........you don't need a prescription here to get any sort of pill..........so they slept fine.

A few stayed up late...... until about 1 am.

It was a very long day.
