Bathrobes and Italians

Most of the Italians I have been meeting all use terry cloth bathrobes to dry themselves out of the shower.

I see them all hanging up in the bathrooms.

I'm even offered one everywhere I stay.

They all think I'm a bit odd that I don't use one.

'WHAT?' 'A TOWEL ONLY?' 'YOU NEED A BATHROBE TO DRY OFF PROPERLY'

I explain to them that I travel light (backpacking).

This calms them down.
