I can't believe I lived in Banff....a place full of Japanese tourists.....and I don't know how to speak or understand Japanese.

All I know is 'arigato'.

I find it very difficult to communicate here in Tokyo. Barely anyone speaks English.

I was asking one young guy...'Do you speak English?'

His reply....'Do you speak Japanese?'

'No I don't' is my reply.

I later start questioning why I don't.

When you go to outerspace you need to be prepared.
